Great Apps Up for Mac Users in Apple’s Mac App Store

By

Now Mac users will find it pretty convenient to download Mac apps with the fresh launching of Mac App Store. Apple’s Mac App Store initially rolled out over 1,000 titles, featuring standard Apple applications like iLife, which come with a number of parts including iPhoto and iMovie, plus other third-party apps like Autodesk Sketchbook Pro, Flight Control HD, Pizelmator, Cheetah 3D, among others.

No doubt, Mac users will find themselves awed and smiling with the apps installation process made really fast, practically in just one easy step. But to be able to enjoy Mac App Store, one needs to upgrade Mac OS X software to version 10.6.6.

I, myself, was guilty of being swayed into Apple’s grab-and-go marketing strategy, but there’s no doubt I am happy with the results.

Well, at first, I was only browsing through the various list of applications, which by the way come in 21 categories. But in my excitement I suddenly got into buying two apps which my wife and I agreeably enjoyed. I should say the downloading process was a snap. I just keyed in the iTunes password that I have been using to buy music for my iPad, and our two new apps almost instantly landed in my dock and ready for installation.

For my wife, I bought Compartments, where she now spends to while away her free time organizing and making inventory of our household stuffs. I am actually excited on the very good prospects of her newfound hobby, hoping that she will finally no longer forget, and not again complain, about where she tucked this and that.

As for myself, being an amateur photographer, I got a third-party app Pixelmator, developed by Pixelmator Team, which I find not only easy to use but very useful for editing and tweaking my pictures. So far these two paid apps, plus the Evernote, which I downloaded in the free app section, are doing exceptionally well. I hope more app choices, especially more free ones, would be soon coming out.

For now, I’m giving a two-thumbs-up to Apple for Mac App Store’s successful launch
